ETS have developed an intranet tool that plots the locations of personnel, printers, fire exits and meeting rooms - and in fact any object required - on office floorplans. Information about any of these can also be displayed at the same time (i.e. internal phone number, email address, manager etc.) and is delivered via a normal internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) using the Macromedia Flash plugin.

The product sets up an empty database on SQL Server 2000, which can then be populated with information from any of your existing systems such as Active Directory, MS Exchange or an HR Database(ETS can provide consultancy on this separately).

To achieve greater efficiency and customer satisfaction, it seems a logical step to seek accreditation so that internal procedures can be independently assessed, verified and improved. As a the Purchasing department has already improved the procurement process. Formal certification will follow at the end of the month.

Installation of wireless internet hotspot covering Ramsgate Royal Harbour

ETS began trialing wireless hardware in Ramsgate Harbour six months ago using some of the latest technologies and techniques. As well as providing wireless broadband internet to the many thousands of boats that moor in the harbour each year, ETS also maintains the harbour's WiFi service. Whether or not they have WiFi enabled equipment, mariners can now check the national and international weather.

ETS forms partnership with Hartsdown Technology College to support school network numbering 400+ workstations

Hartsdown Technology College approached ETS in the summer of 2004 after a severe server crash that left their Microsoft Exchange unable to process the thousands of email messages going to and from the school each day.
Although ETS engineers were able to recover the server with minimal downtime, Hartsdown re-assessed their IT strategy and asked ETS to prescribe a preventative support package to suit their needs.

This included the remote monitoring of their servers, advanced server support, the automatic application of security patches and critical updates, and providing users secure, remote access to the network.

User information consolodation for large multi-national company

With a high turnover of contracted staff on a network, there can be a large amount of redundant information stored. Having several different databases (HR, Windows 2000 Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, company intranet) finding and sorting through this information proves time consuming and problematic.
ETS utilised Coldfusion and Visual Basic programming to consolodate this information to a single Microsoft SQL database. Initially used to store core data, the design was scaleable and is now used to consolodate company wide information.
